Chattanooga Comcast QAM Scrambled

OK enough already. Comcast has now scrambled all non-network digital QAM channels for the Chattanooga area. The worst part of it all? They never even give you a heads up.

I'm going to be looking at alternatives. I hate being nickel and dimed to death with their upgrades and junky set top boxes, so I almost refuse to go that route. CableCard seems to be near its end, so I hate to invest in a dying technology. Seems the only option is to just give in and get their stupid box, or cancel service altogether.

On the upside, at least I don't have to continually try to figure out how they've swapped the channels around any more.

  1. I feel your pain. I had only had the channels figured out for a few months before all but a few stopped working. If their box could do everything my PC could do I'd be happy to pay for it but it can't. I want a simple solution that can do everything and Comcast just really messed that up!

  2. since comcast is scrambling the digital qam channels and requiring a box for every set there is no reason to stay with comcast anymore. if i have to have a box for every set including digital sets with qam tuners i will switch to fios or another provider with a better deal

  3. Anon,

Yeah no doubt. The need to have a box on each set was a big reason I never considering satellite. Now that Comcast is requiring it too, dish or directv are now both viable options to me.
